Discerning the Body Of Christ Part - 1

Awareness, an appreciation of who and what the believer represents as part of Christ body on earth today. Basically, a coming of age of the believer's authority, power, position and identity. A new birth or awakening to the reality of God. By this enlightenment they are transformed from this dark worldly system into a spiritual kingdom. A Tapestry is a thick textile fabric in which colored threads are woven by hand to form an embroidered picture, basically a work of art.

We have been elevated in Christ, given the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead. How did the Body of Christ receive this position of honor and glory? It was certainly not because of anything we did or deserved, but only on account of what Christ accomplished. By the disobedience of Adam, humanity was separated from God. God commissioned His Son to come from a position of royalty and materialize on earth as a human servant.

As believers we are Christ's body, a vehicle in which He has expressed the fullness of God. The carnal mind will not grasp its magnitude or understand what God has consummated in this body. It is exclusively by believing in Jesus that one will understand the immensity of the body of Christ on earth. Some believers discriminate the body of Christ, like the tapestry, from the back side. It is imperative that we properly discernment the body from the tops side. When God looks at us as the body on earth, He sees an absolute image of His Son. We have trouble viewing the body of believers as ideal because we tend to see all the imperfections. This lack of identification to the body has been a major reason for our divisions and deficiency in the operation of the fruit of the Spirit.

Pastor: As a part of the body we need to consider before we speak concerning the body of Christ. To refer to a body of believers from the pulpit, as a dead church, or jest at believers as a joke is not discerning or properly understanding the identity of that body. The body of Christ must be realized in order to bring the full unity of the faith. Let us not be deceived into thinking or inspecting each other as mere mortals. Let's discern and recognize the identification we have in Christ.
